Ca cao Việt Nam được xếp vào nhóm các quốc gia có hương vị tốt nhất thế giới

The International Cocoa Council has classified Vietnam as a group of cocoa growers with a good taste of cocoa.
After the quality cocoa award in 2013 in France, Vietnam cocoa has just been included in the list of countries that produce agricultural products with good taste of the world recognized by ICC. Thus, Vietnam has become the 23rd country to be included in this list of a total of about 60 countries in the world that produce cocoa. Apart from Vietnam, only one other Asian country on this list is Indonesia. The rest are in the Americas and Africa.

The countries classified by the International Cocoa Council as a good flavored cocoa producer are also highly appreciated by the Council for their high percentage of cocoa production. Accordingly, Vietnam has 40% of cocoa production with good taste.

Compared to Indonesia, the proportion of good cocoa flavor of Vietnam is much higher, because this rate of Indonesia is only 1%. But compared to most countries in the list, the proportion of good cocoa flavor of Vietnam is quite modest, because there are 10 countries with 100% of cocoa flavor good, many countries reach the rate of 75 - 95 %, the rest of the countries have the same percentage of cocoa flavor, slightly higher or lower than Vietnam, such as Belize 50%, Honduras 50%, Panama 50%, Guatemala 50%, Dominican Republic 40% and Sao Tome and Principe 35%.

Being classified as high-achieving countries with good taste will certainly help Vietnamese cocoa exports more favorable.

Currently, Vietnam's cocoa area is about 12,000 ha (in 2016), the total annual output is about 6,000 tons. In particular, 3,000 tons of cocoa is exported, the rest is consumed locally. Thanks to thorough care, the quality of value-added products of Vietnamese cocoa has been recognized by the world market, initially creating a solid foundation for domestic businesses to develop business fields. whether it is raw or processing value-added products from cocoa. (chocolate, cocoa liquor, cosmetics from cocoa butter, cocoa powder ...). It is estimated that if semi-processed cocoa can only earn 15%, the refined cocoa product can be up to 400%. Although the market potential is very large, not all domestic enterprises have enough potential to exploit.

According to the Vietnam Cocoa Development Coordination Board, the demand for chocolate consumption in Vietnam market is about 5,500 tons per year and is expected to increase in the following years as people's living standards increase.
